It gave me a warm feeling in my heart when I came to know that our UK-based artist mom Dominique – proud mother of two adorable daughters, 10-year-old Amelia and 3-year-old Penny – left her job in 2015 to be with her daughters full-time. The happiness is not because she left the job, there are many moms who manage both parenting and job with superhuman ferocity, it is the selflessness of the act which acknowledges that a mother can do almost anything to see their children grow; her actions made sure that now she will be the constant part of her daughter’s fleeting childhood – a gift that her daughters will for sure appreciate when they are grown ups.
But, but…but… ‘full-time parenting doesn’t mean that she has given up her entire life; amidst the chaos of diapers and school pick-ups and drop-offs, she managed to remain sane by doing something creative – now, she has her lifestyle-centric Instagram page and a flourishing blog to her credit.
After having a look at the pictures that she shares on her Instagram page under the hashtag #allthatisthree, makes me believe that she does the right thing when she decided to be a full-time mom. For me, the pics speak about belongingness, the warmth of a family in which the daughters are growing happily, and the daughter’s chirpy faces convey that they ‘know what it means to be loved’!! Dominique, I love you, and the fact that you are documenting ‘what you have accomplished’ is making many of us feel pleased and blessed, including me!!!
